What I do, and why...
One of my primary goals as a therapist is to highlight the tendencies we have to let problems we experience interfere with the things in life that we value most. These tendencies can leave us feeling extremely frustrated, unfulfilled, and hopeless! I want to help people learn and practice acceptance and mindfulness, as they develop direction and trajectory, with the goal of restoring a sense of meaning and purpose in their life.
I provide individual, couples and family counseling for adolescents and adults. This includes working through issues with substance abuse, trauma, depression and anxiety, as well as grief and loss. In addition to traditional cognitive-behavioral “talk-therapies,” I provide EMDR to address trauma, PTSD symptoms, and self-defeating core beliefs.
If you are struggling with problems stemming from addictions, grief and loss, mental illness, or just feel stuck in a negative place, I would love to help you take steps to begin your healing process. My goal is to help you develop self-awareness, acceptance, and the motivation to achieve the change you desire.
” When you have a sense of your own identity and a vision of where you want to go in your life, you then have the basis for reaching out to the world and going after your dreams for a better life.” –Stewart Graham
